Requirements to governing the installation of Payphones
If it is your intention to
install, maintain or operate a payphone – the owner must comply with the
following.
- All
charges must be displayed, usually manufacturer’s will provide a
suitable notice, or the owner must make one.
- If
the payphone is connected in parallel with other phones, the user must be
made aware that calls could be overheard.
- Any
emergency 999/112/222 call must be free of charge.
- Payphones
cannot be connected in the same circuit as series connected devices like
fax machines.
